Ensemble VOICE X
VOICE X is a new ensemble initiated and led by composer performer and voice artist Ute Wassermann and consists of Berlin-based experimental vocal improvisers with various backgrounds as singers, choreographers, scientists, musicians, visual artists, designers. The ensemble explores the various facets of improvisation, from conceptual improvisation to free improvisation, focusing on the infinite timbres of the human voice as a flexible, extreme and surprising sound instrument. With HyperPhonia VOICE X will explore the reverberant acoustic properties of Café Babette – its magnificence and fragility – due to its tilted walls and extreme height of 20 m. Vocal sculptures moving through space and specific vocal characters are created using a wide range of vocal expressions, from screams to gasps and whispers, from vibrating choral clusters to soloistic interludes. HyperPhonia activates the acoustic space of Cafe Babette, inviting it to become a musical co-performer

"the tree after running"
The performance explores paradox through sound and visual experience. It reimagines space, reactivating hidden currents of perception and sensation. Body, object, and sound dissolve into one another, blurring familiar boundaries. Echoes and context awaken unexpected ways of feeling and seeing. Through this expanded perception, new worlds of imagination quietly unfold. Lorena Izquierdo explores the relationship between voice, body, sound and space through her artistic practice action poetry where voice and gesture become sculptural material. As a curator, she has led projects focused on sound experimentation and performance art in Berlin. Her work seeks the invisible and the essential, exploring memory and presence from a philosophical and performative perspective.

„1-2-3“
Three sound poems that summon tongue/language as an engine and a device, approaching the word through its resonance and its edge.
Born in Santiago de Chile and based in Berlin, Ginés Olivares works with sonic poetry as an immersive listening practice. Using voice/mouth as an instrument, he weaves breath, grain, repetition, and distortion with synthesizers and field recordings. His performances open intimate, high-intensity spaces where utterance is heard at its thresholds.

„Bathyal / Voice + bird whistles“
Ute Wassermann´s voice manifests itself in multidimensional sculptural sounds that oscillate between electronic, animal, in/organic and human qualities. With her hyperextended voice, bird whistles and objects Ute Wassermann creates a spatial vocal soundscape with the reverberant acoustics of Café Babette.
